Bring the outside in!

I love these nature inspired accessories. I'll admit, I'm on a green kick at the moment and have hoarded all kinds of moss covered lovelies as well as silk flower arrangements. If you're anything like me, zero green thumb genes, buying faux plants is a great investment. (Home Goods has an awesome selection of very high quality silk flowers) Decorating with natural type objects is the perfect way to add that pop of color you need. I just think flowers and birds make your home feel, well, more homey.

Shell bottles like these run extremely high. I for one am not willing to pay 200+ for something so tiny, but, luckily these little beauties are really really easy to mimic and DIY. You can actually find everything you need at Hobby Lobby. Or, if you have your own little collections from beach vacations, this is a great way to display your favorite shells.

Furniture finds from Layla Grace.

Here are some darling furniture pieces from the wonderful laylagrace.com. They have that great secondhand kind of feel; perfect for a feminine house or country cottage. If anything, they can inspire you to repaint some of your own furniture. Summer's got me thinking about brighter colors. Don't be timid about repainting old lacquered furniture either. I tend to like painted wood better. If left natural, I like it weathered, not super shiny. Just my own preference. And don't forget the power of just changing out hardware!
